About Andrea Rose
Education – Initial nursing Diploma was earned at the University Hospital School of Nursing in Kingston, Jamaica. I went on to earn a Bachelors and Masters in nursing from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey. A post master’s certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate in Nursing was additionally obtained from Troy University in Troy Alabama. I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialling Center. I decided to go into medicine because of the illness and suffering I saw around me as a young woman growing up. After migrating to the USA I saw the same degree of suffering so decided to complete my education to be able to help alleviate suffering and help people get well. A good day at work means I have helped someone feel better through collaboration and evidence-based practice. I have now been a nurse for well over 3 decades and a Nurse Practitioner for the last 5 years. I have a passion for medicine and health and wellness. I firmly believe a disease is only a small part of who we are. When I remove my coat, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy going for walks, going to the beach, and reading. Diseases I like to see – Type 2 Diabetes, and Hypertension.
