About Timothy Post

Dr. Post is a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of Kansas. He has been in the field for 38 years, and has worked in a variety of settings with a wide range of patient populations, providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment/testing. In addition to providing direct clinical services, he has been involved in the supervision of graduate practicum students, interns, and candidates for professional licensure. He currently serves as a consultant to newly licensed psychologists, and occasionally conducts continuing education/training activities for mental health professionals. Dr. Post also has a great deal of academic experience, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in psychology. He currently teaches a class on psychodynamic psychotherapy for psychiatry residents at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a class on research and ethics for candidates in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Expressive Analysis in New York City. Dr. Post received his M.S. in clinical psychology from Emporia State University, including an internship in the adult outpatient section at the Mental Health Center of East Central Kansas in Emporia. His Doctor of Psychology degree in clinical psychology is from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, MO, with an internship at Griffin Memorial Hospital (Central State Hospital) in Norman, OK. Following graduate school, he received psychoanalytic training from the Oklahoma Society for Psychoanalytic Studies/Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California and later obtained a certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute.
